Feb 2003- DD got AGT 7 who looks like her after seeing cousin's Molly doll for Christmas.
Christmas 2003- DD recieved Kit as a Christmas present. My sister had passed away that summer and DD cut 10-12 inches off her hair (making it now Kit's length)and donated them to Locks of Love.
Nov 2004- DD got the brunette Bitty Twins for her birthday.
December 2004- DD got Lissie from Santa (ebay)but she was sold about 8 months later.
I got Josefina- my first doll. She is just beautiful. I also ordered Marisol because I thought she was amazing and I loved her hair color.
January 2005- DD got Kailey with money earned on ebay. We sold her a couple months later too.
October 2005- I let DD pick a new doll because we had sold Lissie and Kailey to make some money. DD picked out AGT 4 and named her after my sister.
December 2005- Ordered Jess on her release day because she was a new face mold and I am trying to have a diverse group in my collection. I also ordered AGoT 25 because I kept seeing tons of beautiful pics of her here on the board.
January 2006- DD sent in some duplicate items she received and got AGoT 26 because she loved the curly hair.

The reason I got
Kacey:At the time I got her, she was the only doll that looked like me. I had been asking for an American Girl doll for about half a year and so for my b-day my parents gave me $100 to by her the next day which was when we went to AGPC.
Kaya:When I got her she was my favorite historical dollnd my mom bought her for me as an extra b-day present.
Samantha:After I read her books I fell in love with her and asked for her for Christmas. I ended up getting her.
Marisol:The reason I had gotten Marisol was for getting all A's on my report card although I did have to pay for part of her. I had wanted her because she was a dancer and so am I.
Zoey:3 monthes after I had gotten Kacey they came out with the dolls that don't have bangs. Since they looked more like me, I had wanted one of them very bad but I was trying to get another historical. Since I got the historical for Christmas last year I got this doll this year.
Jess:I wanted her 1st of all because she was very cute. 2nd of all she was a limited edition. So with some of my Christmas money I bought her. My mom paid for the rest of her because she thought she was adorable too.

Josefina was a gift during my first relationship. I had always wanted an AG doll, but my parents could never afford them. (They did, however, buy me each and every AG book.) When Josefina came out, sharing my homestate and my last name, I had to have her. A fantastic gift!
I got Kaya because I'd always wanted an American Indian doll that didn't look like a cheap piece of junk. I got her on my first *real* trip to AGP- I was there on a brief visit in my sophomore year of college.
Marisol was a New Year's gift on my first trip to AGPNY. I had to get because I was a dancer, as was my father (he even danced with Nureyev!) and his mother before him.
I got Felicity this summer for no reason, we never bonded and she's going back tomorrow.
Kit was a present from my partner after my uncle passed away. Isabel arrived that same week, also to cheer me up. Inky was irresistable at AGPC on Thanksgiving break... and Jess was waiting for me when I got home from Ukraine!

Mom said I could choose an AG for my 9th birthday. At the time, there were only 3. I used to think Molly was ugly, so I debated between Kirsten and Samantha. I chose Samantha probably because she has brown hair like me, and I've always loved girly things. Ironically, it was Kirsten's time era that first hooked me on historical fiction from the Little House books and the first AG book I read was one of hers. Mom bought Kirsten for herself 2 months later.
Two years later, I chose Molly for my second doll when Mom let me get one for Hanukkah....but so did my sister. Since I already had an AG, she got first dibs. I got Felicity instead.
When Addy was introduced, Mom bought her for herself, so I don't have her.
Next came the AGTs. I debated for a long time which I wanted. (I used my own money this time) At one point, I had cut out the little squares with all their pictures and tried random selection games. I finally settled on my Hannah Rose- white skin, black hair and brown eyes, because she was so untique looking and the one my mom was suggesting I choose. Sometimes I wish I had picked dark brown hair with green eyes though. I really liked her, and now she is gone. Mom thought she'd look too much like Samantha.
When Josefina came out, it had been 5 years since I got a new historical, so I asked for her for my 16th birthday that year because she was brand new. I never bonded as well with her as my other AGs, but she is still sweet.
3 birthdays later came Kit. I fell in love with her time era, and the fact that she was the first AG with short hair and freckles. (I love having an October birthday and an accomodating mother...)
Nellie came for my 23rd birthday. I had to have her- I have Samantha!
And last but not least, Elizabeth arrived this passed October to compliment Felicity.
Oh, I almost forgot- Sammie, my late 80s secondhand Samantha, a generous gift from someone I met online. She has a damaged eye, but if I had her head redone, she'd be identical to my original Samantha who had her head replaced a few years ago.
I never did get Molly. Maybe one day, but with my sister and a good friend already owning her, I'd almost feel as if I'm infringing on someone else's territory.

Kit--After going to AGPlace to meet a friend from out of town, dd decided that she wanted Kit, even though she had thought before that she didn't want one. Within a couple of weeks, I had bought one on ebay, with accessories, but waited until Christmas to give her to her.
Addy--I just fell in love with her seeing her pictures on here and her outfits etc etc. So, right before Christmas I got her on ebay--a first edition with a boxed set of first edition books. Bought for myself as a Christmas gift from dh.
Molly--After getting Kit, dd had mentioned she had really wanted Molly (but loved Kit now the best). So, I decided to find a cheap Molly on ebay that we would use as a travelling doll to explore the US and for us to learn some stuff, too! She arrived smokey and is being restored, but we can't wait to take part in her adventures!
